A detainee and four police officers assigned at Station 2 in Bacolod City have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

P/Capt. Leo Estopa, Station 2 chief, said yesterday that one of the four police personnel was discharged from a healing center, while the three others have been transferred to a quarantine facility in Bacolod.

The detainee, meanwhile, was transferred to the quarantine facility at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School in Bacolod, he said.

Estopa said that one of their personnel had contracted the virus, so those who had close contact with him at the station were subjected to swab tests.

Last Monday, the detainee, who was arrested for drug charges two months ago, had a fever and asthma attack.

The police had him checked and a physician advised them to have him swabbed.

The result that came out Saturday showed that the detainee tested positive for the virus, Estopa said.

Ten personnel of Station 2 are now under quarantine while 18 detainees were swabbed.

The Station 2 building was also disinfected yesterday, and clients were temporarily attended to outside the facility.*
