Another policeman assigned in Negros Occidental died due to Covid-19 on June 26, deputy provincial police spokesperson, P/Lt. Abegael Donasco, confirmed yesterday.
Donasco said the 42-year-old police officer was assigned at a police station in southern Negros. He was admitted to a hospital on June 21, after he manifested symptoms of the virus and tested positive for Covid three days earlier.
Last year, a police officer assigned at NOCPPO also died of Covid-19, bringing to two the number of policemen in Negros Occidental who succumbed to the deadly virus.
There are 34 police personnel of NOCPPO on quarantine because of the virus.
Meanwhile, 36 NOCPPO personnel, who have fully recovered from the infection, received financial assistance from the PNP at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City yesterday.*
