The search for the two missing persons, who were swept away by a flash flood, ended yesterday after their bodies were found floating in a river at Brgy. Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

PCapt. Hancel Lumandaz, Moises Padilla police chief, said yesterday that the lifeless bodies of Edmond Samson, 17, and Juvelyn Bana-ag, 48, were separately discovered floating in a river at Hacienda Lilia in the barangay.

The recovery of their cadavers came a day after the bodies of Roldan Bana-ag Sr., husband of Juvelyn, and their nephew, Danilo Bana-ag, 17, were separately found Wednesday by members of the search and rescue group in a river in Brgy. Guinpana-an, Moises Padilla, and in Brgy. Bongahin, Isabela town, respectively,

The Bana-ag couple and their son, Roldan Jr., the lone survivor of the incident, and his cousin, Danilo, as well as their neighbor, Samson, who are all residents of Hinigaran town, were crossing an overflow in Sitio Alingasaw, Brgy. Montilla,Moises Padilla on Tuesday on board two passenger tricycles when they were hit by a flashlood.

The two passenger tricycles that the victims were riding were carried away by the strong current, the police said.

The bodies of the victims were already bloated and had injuries believed to be results of being slammed into rocks, Reynald Horegue, Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Office chief of Moises Padilla, said.

Lumandaz said that the bodies of the four victims were brought by members of the Hinigaran search and rescue group to their homes in Hinigaran.*
