A bodyguard shot and killed two persons and injured two more at 3rd Road in Purok BM, Barangay Taculing in Bacolod City, at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dean Mar Suspene, 23, died on the spot, while Noel Canencia 51, was declared dead at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center by an attending physician, P/Capt. Elmer Bonilla, Station 6 chief, said yesterday.

Ranyel Canencia, 23, and Ronnie Cabatbat, 51, sustained gunshot wounds and were also rushed to the BAMC. Bonilla said the suspect, identified as Thomas Lovino, and the victims, who are relatives, have an old grudge.

They had previously been brought to the barangay hall for a settlement when the group of the victims allegedly mauled Lovino, Bonilla said.

He said the group got irked with Lovino, who was allegedly a police asset.

Bonilla said Lovino and the father of Suspene were having drinks when a heated argument ensued between the suspect and the older Canencia.

Bonilla said Lovino then shot Canencia.

While the father of Suspene and the victims were trying to pacify him, Lovino continued to fire his gun and hit them.

The suspect then escaped and brought the gun with him, while the police did not recover any slugs or empty shells at the crime scene since the area was too dark, Bonilla said.

Scene of the crime operatives were requested to process the crime scene, while the police is readying charges for double homicide against Lovino, who remained at large up to yesterday afternoon.*
