The Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital pediatrics ward will temporarily be closed for disinfection and risk assessment of staff, Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.
This is because of their possible contamination from a COVID-19 patient, he said.
While admissions of pediatric cases will be suspended, emergency room services will be available for patients needing immediate medical attention, he said.
Admission of pediatric ward patients will resume once RT-PCR tests of nurses and pediatricians come back negative, Diaz added.
Bacolod City had 59 new COVID-10 cases and Negros Occidental has 54, the Department of Health reported yesterday.*
