Teleperformance Philippines recently took part in the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA) webinar, titled Business Online eXploration, on the theme “Navigating Opportunities Amidst Crisis”.

Senior director for communications and marketing, Marilyn Romero-Ventenilla, was the keynote speaker and shared insights through her presentation on “Resilience and Agility: Shift in Marketing Implementation during Economic Crisis”.

The PJMA webinar was streamed on Facebook Live and received more than 2,000 views and was attended by students, members of the marketing academe, and industry professionals, the press release said.

Ventenilla noted how the global pandemic has added another level of complexity, especially for marketers, on how businesses adapt to the current global situation.

“Downturns and disasters give rise to the opportunity to recreate, reskill, refine, and revisit priorities and values. Despite the easing of restrictions, most customers chose to stay home and use e-commerce in spite of connectivity challenges, thereby elevating an appreciation of the value of virtual activities for safety and giving rise to the Filipino’s online market profiles,” she said.

The COVID-19 pandemic has reflected an evident change in the Filipino market behavior, with customers spending an average of 4 hours and 12 minutes online every day. There is also a shift in workplace behavior, with companies putting a greater focus on employees’ and customers’ health and safety which resulted in less commuting and fewer business trips, the press release said.
