BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Talisay City Hall and the Sipalay City New Government Center were placed on temporary lockdowns yesterday for disinfection and contact tracing of Covid-infected employees.

In his advisory, Mayor Neil Lizares said the new Talisay City Hall will be closed for two days, or until today, to pave the way for a thorough disinfection of its premises.

Lizares reported that Talisay City yesterday logged 11 new Covid cases.

The Sipalay City NGC was also placed on temporary lockdown until June 27.

Mayor Gina Montilla-Lizares said the operations of the Sipalay NGC will resume on June 28.

Lizares advised City Hall employees to stay home and limit their exposure to the public.

Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Sipalay City logged 22 new active cases on June 23.

On June 21, the Sipalay Sangguniang Panlungsod office was also temporarily closed, until further notice, for the tracing of primary contacts of its employees who had tested positive for Covid.

The Bago City Hall was temporarily closed since June 23, after some of its employees also got infected, Mayor Nicholas Yulo said.

Yulo ordered all City Hall employees to adopt a work-from-home arrangement. Bago City had reported 119 active cases, as of June 23.*
