The Rotaract Club of Marapara was honored recently at the Rotaract-Intereact District Conference for a year of outstanding service and community projects, its press release said.
The club received 18 major awards for service and “Distinguished Flagship Projects” from Rotary International District 3850. These included feeding events, sanitation and clean water, environmental activities, and education and literary initiatives.
“Receiving these awards was a great honor, but they are just bonuses. The impact of our projects and the changes we can make in people’s lives are the main reasons we do what we do,” club president Mina Retita said.
Rotaract is a global movement of young leaders. The Rotaract Club of Marapara is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara, and both work side by side to take action through service, the press release added.*
