The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force in Western Visayas has approved the suspension of inbound travel of locally stranded individuals to four Negros Occidental towns and cities, as requested by the concerned local government units.
Starting Dec. 21 to Jan. 3, LSIs will not be allowed to enter the cities of Himamaylan and Victorias, and the town of Calatrava, while the moratorium on the entry of LSIs to Cauayan will start on Dec. 20 until Jan. 3, the resolution issued by RIATF and dated Dec. 1, says.
The four LGUs requested the moratorium on the arrival of LSIs and overseas Filipino workers so they can disinfect their quarantine facilities, and for their frontliners to take a rest.
The municipal government of Cauayan said it will also conduct repairs and maintenance of the isolation facilities.
The RIATF also approved earlier the suspension of arrivals of LSIs in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, from Dec. 22 to Jan. 5, in order to prepare the quarantine facilities.
The RIATF also approved the request of the provincial government of Negros Occidental for a moratorium on LSI arrivals on Dec. 24, 25, and 31 and January 1, to give the health workers time to rest and celebrate the holidays.*
