A retired member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and three other drug suspects were arrested by the police in separate buy-bust operations on Sunday and Monday in the cities of La Carlota and Talisay, Negros Occidental, that also yielded more than P161,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 2, La Carlota City, was Samuel Remoriata, 56, and a widower and retired member of the AFP.
The arrest of Remoriata. who is considered by the La Carlota City police as a high value individual drug personality, yielded a gram of suspected shabu worth P6,800 and its paraphernalia, P500 in marked money and a Nokia cellular phone.
The joint buy-bust operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the local police also led to the arrest of Raphy Duadores in Brgy. Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
The apprehension of Duadores, as reported by the Talisay City police, yielded about 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P100,000 and P35,000 in buy-bust money, a report of the Talisay City police said.
Another buy-bust operation at Jalandoni Ville in Brgy. Lantad, Silay City, yesterday led to the arrest of Glen Jimenea and Louebel Besana that also yielded about nine grams of suspected with a market value of P61,200, P500 in marked money, P146 in cash and a Yamaha motorcycle, the police said.*GPB
