PRO 6 Covid cases down – PNP

The number of police personnel in Western Visayas infected by Covid-19 shows a downward trend, as of July 18, a report of the PNP Health Service showed.

The Covid-19 affectation among police personnel and civilian employees reduced from 176 on July 13, to 158 as of yesterday.

While the PNP Health Service reported four new cases on July 18, with one each at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Aklan and Iloilo PPOs, as well as the National Support Units, there were also three recoveries at IPPO and the Iloilo City Police Office.

Of the 158 active cases, the Negros Occidental and Antique Police Provincial Offices, as well as ICPO recorded 23 cases each, Iloilo PPO – 20, Capiz PPO – 19, Regional Headquarters – 13, Aklan PPO – 11, Guimaras PPO – 7, Bacolod City Police Office – 5, and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 with two cases.

The mortality rate remains at five.

All over the region, the PNP Health Service recorded 1,040 police personnel and civilian employees infected by the virus.*
