Vehicle owners flocked to the 10 gasoline stations of Petron Corporation in Bacolod City to avail of its 50 percent discount on fuel products yesterday, and this caused traffic congestion in several areas.
Traffic enforcers also reprimanded owners of vehicles for counter-flowing.
Traffic buildups were noted at the Petron branches at Araneta, 24th-Lacson, Lopez Jaena, Rizal, and Lizares streets.
Vehicles also flocked the Petron stations at B.S Aquino Drive, Buena Park Subdivision, Magsaysay Avenue, and Magsaysay-Lacson junction.
The discount granted was part of the company’s 12 Days of Merry promo for the holidays.
The discount was given between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., with a minimum purchase of one liter. In its website, Petron said the promo marked the ninth day of the 12 Days of Merry, and will be followed by a giveaway of 12 Apple iPads on Dec. 23, 12 grocery sprees worth P12,000 on Dec. 24, and 12 winners of one-year worth of free fuel on Dec 25.*
