Pa, son, 2 others killed

Old grudges reportedly triggered the killing yesterday of a 52-year-old man and his son in Sitio Nasanagan, Brgy. Bi-ao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

The victims, identified as Crisanto Espante Sr., 52, and his son, Crisanto Jr., 22, died on the spot, a report of the Binalbagan Police Station said.

Three of the four suspects were identified by the Binalbagan police as Jomar Espante Salvador, Negro Espante Salvador, both residents of Sitio Dinapit in the barangay, and a certain Junjie, of Brgy. Tampalon, Kabankalan City.

Binalbagan police investigation showed that the two victims were shot by the four suspects, who conspired with each other in the commission of the crime.

A livestock buyer was also shot and killed by an unidentified gunman on Saturday in Sitio Cambogui-ot, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victim as Reynaldo Taquipan, 43, of Brgy. Camindangan, Sipalay City.

Sipalay police investigation showed that the victim was on his way home from his piggery when he was shot and killed by the unidentified suspect.

Taquipan succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot, the police said.

Meanwhile, a laborer identified by the police as Joven Suan, 35, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after he was hacked by his younger brother, Jolan, also on Saturday at Purok Santol in Brgy. Tampalon, Kabankalan City.

Before the incident, the two brothers had engaged in a drinking spree and later figured in heated arguments, the Kabankalan police investigation showed.

Meanwhile, two persons were found dead on Friday and Saturday in the cities of Sagay and Cadiz, Negros Occidental.

The body of an unidentified person believed to have drowned was found Saturday at a beach resort in Sitio Look, Brgy. Old Sagay, Sagay City.

In Brgy. Cabahug, Cadiz City, a 77-year-old woman, identified by the police as Teresa Acosta was also found dead at her residence on Friday.*
