The City Social Welfare and Development Office has distributed P8,352,000 in cash subsidy to beneficiaries in Bacolod City since Thursday until yesterday.

CSWD head Pacita Terro said the amount was distributed to 1,392 residents, who received P6,000 in cash through their respective barangays.

Terro said these residents were waitlisted to receive the assistance from the national government.

The CSWD was supposed to distribute P31.1 million in cash aid to 5,185 residents.

But the regional Department of Social Welfare and Development downloaded only P10.2 million for 1,700 qualified Bacolod residents, Terro said.

Those scheduled to receive the cash grant from Thursday until yesterday but were not able to do so, should wait for the announcement of the next scheduled distribution, she said.

Terro said the CSWD had identified at least 9,000 recipients of the cash subsidy in Bacolod under the Bayanihan Act 2, in the light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Terro said they will finalize on Thursday the list of households that were affected by the granular lockdowns since September 11.

CSWD is set to distribute P6,000 each to affected low-income earning families as financial assistance, on top of the P6,000 social amelioration grant. Distressed overseas workers will also receive P6,000 in cash assistance, Terro added.*
