P678K in shabu, gun seized

About P678,300 worth of suspected shabu and a gun were seized in drug buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental Wednesday and yesterday.

Erwin Agsam, the subject of a buy-bust operation, was wounded when he allegedly tried to shoot police officers and the latter retaliated, at Camella Subdivision in Barangay Bata, Bacolod, at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Agsam sustained a gunshot wound in his left leg, P/Lt. Col. Ariel Pico, Bacolod City Police Office public information officer, said, adding that operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Group-6 were conducting a buy-bust against the suspect when he fired a gun at them, prompting the police to retaliate.

The arrest of Agsam yielded 22 sachets of suspected shabu, worth P272,000, a .38 caliber revolver loaded with five live ammunition, P1,000 in marked money, a black belt, a coin purse, P1,200 in cash, a holster, and a Nissan van with plate number FAG 2826.

Meanwhile, about 50 grams of suspected shabu, worth P340,000, and drug paraphernalia were seized from a drug personality in a buy-bust operation in Purok 8, Barangay Mandalagan in Bacolod City, at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6 Special Enforcement Team operatives conducted the operation and arrested Alexander Cordova, a report from PDEA-6 said.

The buy-bust operations of the police Wednesday and yesterday in Negros Occidental also led to the apprehension of six drug suspects and the recovery of P66,300 worth of suspected shabu and its paraphernalia.

An alleged street level target drug personality, identified as Roderick Chavez, was arrested yesterday by the police during a buy-bust operation in Purok Gomez, Brgy. 2, Silay City.

The apprehension of Chavez yielded seven grams of suspected shabu worth P47,600, P3,500 in boodle money, P500 in marked money, and P20 in cash.

Another buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect, identified by the police as Dundee Canciller, alias DondonTuko, at Cabahug Street in Brgy. Zone 1, Cadiz City.

The arrest of Canciller yielded 0.5 gram of suspected shabu worth P3,400 and P500 in marked money.

Five sachets of suspected shabu, worth P3,400, P500 in marked money, and P667 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, were recovered by the police from Dindo Celis in Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City, Wednesday.

Two other drug suspects, identified as Judilyn Juanico and Levan Francisco, were collared by the police in another buy-bust operation in Brgy. 9, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

A gram of suspected shabu, worth P6,800, and its paraphernalia, a cellular phone, P100 in marked money and P1,490 in cash were also recovered during the buy-bust operation.

Police also nabbed Hector Borgonia, a 47-year-old watchman, who was apprehended for similar violation in Crossing Pa-it, Brgy. 1-A, Manapla, Negros Occidental.

The Manapla police also recovered 0.7 gram of suspected shabu, worth P5,100, and P500 in marked money during the arrest of Borgonia.*
