About  P525,000 worth of suspected shabu  seized from an alleged high value target and his niece in a drug buy-bust operation at about 8:35 p.m. In Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.

P/Lt Liberty Indiape, Bacolod City Police Spokesperson identified the arrested suspects as Mark Dayon, 29 and his niece Conilyn Chavez, 27, both of Purok Cagaycay in Brgy. 2.

Indiape said the policemen recovered 15 sachets of suspected shabu estimated to weigh 75 grams, a hundred peso bill used as marked money and several non-drug related items from the suspects.

She said the arrest of the duo was a joint operation of the Regional  and the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 2.

One of the operatives, who requested anonimity, told the DAILY STAR that they conducted two weeks of surveillance on information that Dayon is into illegal drug trade again.

He said Dayon was arrested for illegal Drug charges back in 2019 and was only released due to a plea-bargaining agreement.

Dayo and his niece are now detained at Police station 2 while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2005 will be filed against them.*
