The Malisbog Bridge in Brgy. E Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental, worth P47 million, is now open for use by commuters.
This was after the Malisbog Bridge, with a span of 60 lineal meters, or an area of 791.8 square meters, was inaugurated yesterday by Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez and Mayor Mark Golez, with former Senator JV Ejercito.
Underscoring the importance of the bridge in connecting people to other communities, facilities and economic activities, Benitez stressed that such linkages make a difference in the lives of people and in the ease of transport of people and goods.
Other Silay City officials present during the inauguration rites, were councilors Edwin John Dennis Velez, Ramon Celebre, Andrew John Penuela, Lyndon Bernardo and Henry Belleza, DPWH District Engineer Abraham Villareal, E. Lopez Barangay Captain Ging Gallego, and Guinhalaran Barangay Captain Toti Lopez.
Fr. Ermen Bimbao led the blessing rites.*
