The Bacolod City Police Office seized P2.9 million worth of suspected shabu weighing 432.26 grams in its intensified operations last month, its spokesperson, P/Lt. Liberty Indiape, said yesterday.
Indiape said that out of 59 drug operations they conducted, 69 drug personalities were arrested, who included three high value targets and four newly-identified drug personalities, while the rest were street level individuals.
She said they were able to file 102 cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, particularly Section 5, for illegal drug sale against the suspects.
In its continuous campaign against illegal drugs, Station 4 policeman arrested Romartin Aguilar, 42, of Anahaw Street, Brgy. Villamonte after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
Ten sachets of suspected shabu ,valued at P10,200, and weighing 1.5 grams were also confiscated from Aguilar during his arrest recently.
OTHER OPERATIONS
In the campaign against wanted person, Indiape said, BCPO personnel arrested 48 persons with pending arrest warrants, including six most-wanted individuals, from 54 operations they conducted.
Aside from wanted persons and drug suspects, the city police also confiscated eight loose firearms and filed charges against their owners. The police also arrested 87 suspects for illegal gambling and seized P9,000 in bet money from them, BCPO records show.*
