Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo appears to be on the way to realizing her promise to Moises Padilla residents for the concrete paving of town main road network, as both the national and provincial governments have allocated P183 million for several infrastructure projects.

Yulo, who led the groundbreaking rites for the initial P15 million road concreting project funded by the provincial government of Negros Occidental, said yesterday that their prayers have been answered, with the start of road concreting from Brgy. Crossing Magallon to Brgy. Guinpana-an of about 20 kilometers.

This is on top of a road concreting project funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways, through the efforts of Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo (Neg. Occ., 5th District), and the Department of Tourism, with the help of the National Task Force–Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict.

Yulo said that the provincial government also promised to allocate an additional P25 million for the road project.

For almost two decades, Yulo said, Moises Padilla residents and commuters going to Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, have been enduring the rough road networks.

It appears that the road concreting project, that is expected to boost the local economy and tourism potentials, may be realized soon, she added.

It is a dream come true for Moises Padilla residents, she said.

The national government has allocated P116 million for the concreting of road network from Brgy. Guinpana-an, that will link to the road concreting project of the provincial government.

Yulo said the first phase of the road concreting project in the Kaitulari road network in Brgy. Guinpana-an had been completed last year by the DPWH, while the second phase is ongoing.

She said she expects the completion of the road concreting project next year.

In her message aired during the groundbreaking rites attended by her representatives, the DPWH and Provincial Engineer’s Office, and Sangguniang Bayan members, among others, Arroyo assured Yulo of her continued support for the completion of the project. Arroyo also lauded Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice-Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer for helping the Moises Padilla LGU by allocating an initial P15 million for the first phase of the road, and thanked Yulo for working tirelessly in serving her constituency.*
