An estimated P144,000 worth of suspected shabu and assorted paraphernalia were recovered from five drug suspects, including a senior citizen, who were arrested on Christmas day and on Saturday in Negros Occidental.
The apprehension of Hilbert Calvo, who is classified by the police as a street level target drug personality during a buy-bust operation on Dec. 25 in Purok Mangingisda, Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City, yielded about 15 grams of suspected shabu, worth P102,000, drug paraphernalia, and P3,500 in buy-bust money, including the P500 marked bill.
Another buy-bust operation at Km. 105 in Brgy. Dancalan, Ilog, also led to the arrest of Zaldy Artisano, a laborer, of Brgy. 2, Kabankalan City, on the same day.
Artisano, 42, yielded 0.4 gram of suspected shabu, with a market value of P3,000, and P500 in marked money, the police said.
Operatives of the Bacolod Police Station 2 arrested a certain Delia Chua, 63, during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 2, Bacolod, and seized P34,000 worth of suspected shabu Saturday, the Police Regional Office 6 reported. The police added that Robert Arriola and Angelo Flores were nabbed with 0.7 gram of suspected shabu, worth P5,236, P200 in marked money, and a red and black Rusi motorcycles in another buy-bust operation in Brgy. Blumentritt, Murcia, on Dec. 24.*
