Operatives of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit seized more than P1.3 million in suspected shabu in two drug buy-bust operations in barangays Tangub and Alijis, yesterday and Thursday.
P/Lt. Liberty Indiape, Bacolod police spokesperson, said the operation conducted at about 2 a.m. yesterday in Purok Roadside, Brgy. Tangub, led to the arrest of Glaiza Alvaran, alias Masang, 34, of the purok, considered a high value target, and her companions, identified as Leobert Polvora, alias Amay, 40, of Marapara in Brgy. Villamonte, and Jonave Umadhay, 44, of Purok Kadena de Amor, Brgy. Handumanan.
An operative said the suspects were arrested after one of them received P1,000 in marked money from a police poseur-buyer, adding that Alvaran had been under surveillance for quite some time.
Some 27 heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 105 grams and valued at P714,000, a digital weighing scale and other paraphernalia were seized during the operation, police records show.
At about 6:15 p.m. Thursday, DEU operatives also confiscated 12 heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 100 grams and valued at P680,000, from Gino Inventor, alias Peter Pan, 28, also an HVT, of Purok Bangrus, Brgy. 1. He was wounded in his thigh after he exchanged gunfire with the operatives, the police said.
Investigation showed that Inventor attempted to escape on board a motorcycle but he was later arrested in front of the Bacolod City College in Brgy. Taculing. Seized from him were P5,000 in marked money, a .38 caliber revolver, and a motorcycle, while a fired cartridge was recovered at the crime scene.*
