It’s normal operations for Ceres Liner passenger buses in Negros Occidental, except within Bacolod City, which is now under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine until Sept. 30.

However, the company will not use the passenger terminals in Bacolod as the city is under MECQ, Jade Seballos, media relations officer of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI)., operator of the Ceres Liner, said.

For Ceres Liner passenger buses plying the northern Negros routes, Seballos said they will establish a temporary pick-up point at the La Costa Brava, which is the boundary of the cities of Talisay and Bacolod.

For southbound routes, the pickup point will be at Km.11, which is located at the boundary of cities of Bago and Bacolod, she added.

Seballos also announced that there will be no operation for Ceres Liner passenger buses from Bacolod City to Ma-ao in Bago City, that was also placed under lockdown due to increasing cases of Covid-19.

Passenger buses will be available to commuters starting 5 a.m. at the designated northbound and southbound pick-up points, she added.

As stipulated in the executive order issued by Mayor Evelio Leonardia placing Bacolod City under MECQ, the operations of public transportation are suspended, while the continuation of private transportation will be subject to the guidelines of the Department of Transportation.

The Philippine National Police has established about 35 inner and outer check up points in Bacolod City, aimed at helping efforts to control the spread of Covid-19.*
