The Escalante City Police Station in Negros Occidental will soon have a new home.
P/Lt. Col. Gil John Despi, Escalante City police chief, said yesterday that they are now preparing to transfer to their new city police station headquarters in Hacienda Fe after its scheduled inauguration and turnover next month.
The construction of the three-storey police station was facilitated by Mayor Melecio “Beboy” Yap, who allocated the 1,000 square-meter lot, and the building was funded by Camp Crame.
Despi said the building was temporarily used as quarantine facility for returning overseas Filipino workers at the height of the Covid pandemic.
Last month, the Department of Public Works and Highways also turned over the newly-completed police station of San Enrique to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.*
