Families of barangay tanods, officials, employees, and health workers enrolled in the provincial government’s Barangay Insurance Program received their insurance benefits in a distribution ceremony held at the Capitol in Bacolod City recently.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turnover of the barangay insurance benefits, worth a total of P800,000, to beneficiaries from the cities of San Carlos, Escalante, Sagay, Silay, Talisay, and Himamaylan, and the towns of Murcia, Pulupandan, Isabela, Moises Padilla, La Castellana, and Binalbagan, a press release from the Capitol said.

The insurance program is under the Special Programs and Concerns Division, headed by Engr. Jose Maria Amugod.

Strict health and safety protocols were observed during the activity.

Meanwhile, Lacson also turned over a check worth P2 million to Mayor Cicero Borromeo of the municipality of Candoni.

The financial assistance is for the priority development programs and projects of the town, the press release added.*
