Officials from Monte Solar Energy Inc., based in Bais City, Negros Oriental, received the Safety Seal from the Department of Labor and Employment recently*

A solar power plant based in Negros Oriental received a safety seal certificate from the Department of Labor and Employment.

DOLE-7 director Salome Siaton said yesterday that Monte Solar Energy Inc. in Barangay Tamisu, Bais City is the first company in the energy industry in the Central Visayas region to have been issued the certificate.

In her report, DOLE-Negros Oriental Field Office chief, Marites Mercado, said DOLE inspectors — engineers Randolph Culanculan and Rodolfo Sildora Jr.— led the awarding ceremony of the Safety Seal Certificate to Monte Solar Energy, a joint venture between Ayala Group’s AC Energy Holdings Inc. and Bronzeoak Philippines.

Monte Solar is also the first company outside Cebu to receive a safety seal from the DOLE.

“That safety seal issued to them affirms that they have been found compliant with the minimum public health standards. Not only that, they have also institutionalized a contact tracing application in the workplace. To the management of Monte Solar Energy Inc., congratulations and we look forward to your continued compliance,” Siaton said.

To date, DOLE has issued safety seal certificates to the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Project by Cebu Link Joint Venture, Feeder Apparel Corp., Feeder Apparel Corp.- FIT (Printing), On Semiconductor Cebu Philippines Inc., Mactan Apparels Inc., Metro Wear Inc., TMX Philippines Inc., Delfingen PH-Filipinas Inc., Lear Philippines Engineering Branch, Matluster Corp., Duck-Il Korea Inc., Global Wear Manufacturing Inc., Teradyne Philippines Ltd., Vertex One Apparel Philippines Inc., The Alcoves, Avida Towers Riala Tower 4, and Solinea Tower 4.

Siaton urged anew all companies to apply for the issuance of safety seal, saying having such would not only ensure customer confidence but would also tell their workers and their stakeholders that it is safe to work for and transact with them.

All covered establishments shall submit their application online through https://reports.dole.gov.ph or in person, and the application shall be assisted by the regional office to use the DOLE establishment report system.*PNA
