Another Negros Occidental policeman is now in hot water after he tested positive for use of illegal drugs, regional police spokesperson, Lt. Col. Joem Malong, said.
This brought to two the number of Negros Occidental police personnel who tested positive of using illegal drugs, as the Police Regional Office 6 targets to subject all Western Visayas PNP personnel to drug testing.
The police non-commissioned officer holds the rank of chief master sergeant, Malong said.
Two months ago, a policeman assigned at the Candoni Police Station also tested positive for drug use.
Malong said that Brig. Gen. Rolando Miranda, PRO 6 director, has issued an order for the immediate relief of the police officer from his present assignment, and to reassign him at the Regional Police Holding Unit in Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City. The NOCPPO policeman was among the latest batch of 32 police personnel subjected to random drug testing in Western Visayas.*
