Combined operatives of the Police Regional Intelligence Division-6 and Station 3 policemen arrested the most-wanted personality of Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat at about 9 a.m. Monday in Brgy. Bata, Bacolod City.

Station 3 chief, P/Major Richard Fajarito, identified the arrested suspect as Jesuhua Pico, alias “Jeje”, 26, of Gold Crest Subdivision, Brgy. Bata, who has been staying in the place since last year.

Fajarito said Pico was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 9165, or illegal drug sale, issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 19 Judge Lorenzo Balo of Isulan, who denied him bail.

Mark Magallanes, of Purok Kaburihan, Brgy Estefania, Bacolod City, who is wanted for rape, was also arrested by Station 4 policemen at about 11 a.m. yesterday at his residence.

Magallanes was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by RTC Branch 43 Judge Judge Edwin Gomez, who denied him bail.

Meanwhile, the new BCPO flagpole is nearing completion.

Located in front of the BCPO main building, the flagpole was made possible through the generosity of architect Caesar Ken Panisales, and his brother, engineer Emar Ken Panisales, owner/proprietor of Acster Marketing.

The siblings solely funded the construction of the new flagpole to show their support to the leadership of P/Col. Manuel Placido, as city director.

“Because of the flagpole’s length and height, the raised Philippine flag might be seen even from a considerable distance and would greet individuals who would enter the BCPO headquarters,” P/Lt. Ma Liberty Indiape, public information officer, said in a press release.

“With the new flagpole in the middle of the BCPO parade ground, the proud and honored feeling can be visibly seen in every BCPO personnel and also as a Bacolodnon to see a more dignified flagpole for the Philippine flag that symbolizes our country and our service to countrymen,” it added.

Placido is thankful to the Acster Marketing for the flagpole and to the Silver Dragon Construction Inc. for the concreting of the BCPO pavement and parade ground.

He said he is overwhelmed by the support of Bacolodnons.

“The new flagpole, with its regally raised Philippine flag at the BCPO parade ground, shall be a unifying symbol for all of us Filipinos, and for personnel to render a salute, for everyone to respect and honor our national flag, and for all of us to see and be proud as Bacolodnons and as Filipinos,” he added.*
