Five more Negros Occidental provincial government employees have tested positive for Covid-19, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday.

The five are all assigned at the office of the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program.

Diaz said three of the infected employees are being isolated at the Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia, one at Limman’s Center Inn in Bacolod City, and the other one confined at the Valladolid District Hospital.

The NOCHP office was placed on temporary lockdown for disinfection and contact tracing purposes.

“It just tells us that while we are on vaccine rollout, it still does not secure us from Covid-19, which is still very much around. So we really have to be very careful,” Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

Negros Occidental logged 64 recoveries and two deaths on July 11.

There were 20,050 confirmed Covid cases in Negros Occidental, with 17,697 recoveries, 1,862 active cases, and 491 deaths, as of July 11, the Provincial Incident Management Team said.*
