The search for the 5-year-old missing child ended yesterday, after her decomposing body was found in a river in Brgy. RSB, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
La Carlota City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management officer Manuel Pilar said that the victim, who was found at about 7 a.m. yesterday, was positively identified by members of her family.
The minor was swept away by a flashflood on June 6 in Brgy. La Granja, La Carlota City. Her body was discovered about five kilometers from where she was left by her mother, who went to fetch her other child, Pilar, who led the retrieval operation, told DYHB Tatak RMN.
The Special Rescue Unit of the Bureau of Fire Protection had assisted the La Carlota CDRRMO personnel in the search and retrieval operations, since Monday.*
