Violators of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in Bacolod City have been warned of arrests by the Philippine Army and National Police.

Col. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said yesterday that the Army and PNP, in tandem with the Bacolod City and Negros Occidental local government units, are serious in the implementation of Covid-19 laws to safeguard the people from the spread of the deadly virus.

Pasaporte, who led the send-off ceremony Saturday for Army contact tracers dispatched to Bacolod City, said the number of Covid-19 cases in the city continues to increase because of the wanton disregard for health protocols set by health officials, by some irresponsible people.

He reminded the contact tracing teams of the Army, the police and nurses not to be complacent in the fight against the pandemic, while performing their duties.

Two MECQ violators, who are pedicab drivers, were arrested for not wearing face masks and shields by personnel of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, 14th Civil Military Operations Battalion and the police during a Loudspeaker Operation on targeted barangays of Bacolod.

“We should be concerned over the spread of Covid-19 and your Army, PNP and Bacolod City government need your cooperation and patience in helping our government curb this Covid-19 pandemic,” Pasaporte said.*
