The prices of meat in the markets of Negros Occidental slightly dropped this week amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In the prevailing market price of livestock and poultry weekly monitoring of the Provincial Veterinary Office, the prices of beef decreased by P.70 per kilogram, from P272.60/kg on August 24 to P271.90/kg on September 1.
Prices of pork also slightly dropped by P.24/kg, from P202.48/kg to P202.24/kg during the period.
Carabeef also decreased by P.57/kg, from P264.55/kg to P263.98/kg, while the price of chevon increased by P.16/kg, from P322.13/kg to P322.29/kg.
The price for broiler chicken was slightly up at P158.58/kg from P158.89/kg, while the price of native chicken remained steady for the period at P254.10/kg.
Eggs are priced at P6.44 (small), P7.09 (medium), P7.73 (large), and P8.39 (extra large), and P12.39 per piece of salted egg.
In Bacolod City, the average price of carabeef is P250/kg, beef – P255/kg, pork – P220/kg, broiler chicken – P155/kg, native – P250/kg, and eggs at P7 (small), P7.50 (medium), P8 (large), P8.50 (extra large), and P12.50 (salted) per piece.*
