A 53-year-old man was killed and his companion was injured when they were shot by three unidentified suspects on July 15 in Brgy. San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
The victims, identified as Rex Gumban and Enrique Hilapon, both residents of the barangay, were riding a motorcycle when they were waylaid by the three suspects, who were wearing bonnets, in front of the Andres Gumban National High School.
Gumban sustained a gunshot wound in the head and died on the spot, while Hilapon managed to escape despite injuries in his right shoulder, the Toboso Police Station said.
He was rushed to the Toboso Municipal Health Office for treatment of his injuries, while the three suspects are still at-large.
Policemen recovered four empty shells of a 9mm caliber pistol at the scene of incident.*
