A Covid-19 positive Bacolod City government employee held a birthday party shortly before his test result was released, Barangay 40 Captain Elmer Villanueva said yesterday.

Villanueva said the COVID-positive employee from Barangay 40 celebrated his birthday on August 10 before his swab result came out.

He did not inform the barangay that he underwent swab test on July 29 and only called Villanueva on August 14 that he was positive for COVID-19.

Villanueva in an ABS-CBN interview said they advised the city employee not to go out of his house. He added that they are waiting for the swab results of 20 persons the employee had been in close contact with.

Five other persons in Barangay 40 also tested positive for COVID-19 after being in close contact with a COVID-19 employee of the city government, Villanueva said.

Meanwhile, a female nurse working in a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company in Bacolod City posted on social media that she is positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and called out those who have been in close contact with her for contact tracing purposes.

In her Facebook account, Arlene Jayme said her last duty at the BPO company as a nurse was on August 7 and she is asking those who have visited the clinic from July 26 to August 7, and those who have close contact with her from July 26 to August 9 to send her a private message for contact tracing.

A lot of people responded to her message on social media as of yesterday.*
