Businessman Leo Rey Yanson was reappointed chairman of the board and president of the Mindanao Star Bus Transport Inc (MSBTI) during its annual stockholders virtual meeting on Jan. 16 in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
This was after Leo Rey was earlier reappointed chairman of the board and president of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), the country’s largest bus company, and that of Ceres Liner Travel and Tours Inc., in separate stockholders meetings on Dec. 5 last year, and Jan. 4, respectively, its press statement said.
Matriarch Olivia Yanson was also reappointed MSBTI corporate secretary and treasurer, with Ginnette and Charles Dumancas, Rey Ardo, and Arvin John Villaruel reelected as members of the MSBTI board of directors, aside from Leo Rey.
The press statement from the camp of Leo Rey also said that stockholders Roy Yanson, Ricardo Yanson Jr., and Emily Yanson were absent, despite proper and timely notice.
Despite the challenges faced in 2020, Leo Rey said in a statement that MSBTI remains strong and resilient, as it will continue to be steadfast in its goal to serve the Filipino people.
MSBTI remains committed to providing the riding public with the most reliable means of public transportation for all, the statement said, adding that the newly appointed Board is excited to see how they can continue to push boundaries to provide quality transportation to every Filipino despite the challenges of the pandemic.
The MSBTI principal office is located in Cagayan De Oro City, Jade Seballos, VTI media relations officer, said.*
