Employees of the Bacolod Hall of Justice (HOJ) and several lawyer are scheduled for inoculation today, Councilor Renecito Novero said.
Novero, who is a member of the Bacolod Vaccination Committee, said he and Executive Judge Raymond Javier inspected the readiness of HOJ yesterday.
He said the inoculation will start at 8 a.m. and the employees will get AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson jabs.
Since the AstraZeneca vaccines to be used are part of the 650,000 doses purchased by Bacolod using local funds, Novero said the city has the prerogative to inoculate those who belong to the A1 to A5 categories.
He said that Bacolod also started the vaccination of uniformed personnel.
Meanwhile, residents flocked to the vaccination centers in barangays Alijis, Banago, Cabug, Estefania, Mansilingan, Punta Taytay and at Villa Esperanza in Brgy. Tangub and Andres Bonifacio Elementary School yesterday.
Overseas Filipino workers also converged at the Bacolod Government Center while other residents went to the malls to be vaccinated.
Dr. Edwin Miraflor, acting Bacolod City Health officer, said the influx of people in the vaccination centers is an indication that vaccine acceptability among the residents is growing.
Miraflor reminded those who flock to the vaccination centers to continue maintaining minimum health protocols.
Since July 19, the Bacolod Emergency Operations Center was able to administer 90,942 doses of AstraZeneca and Sinovac jabs.*
