Police probers are looking into the possibility of an “inside job” in the robbery of a home improvement retailer store in Brgy. Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental, on July 15.

The suspects reportedly took P102,995 in cash sales, initial investigation of the Bago City police showed.

P/Lt. Joseph Jaro, Bago City deputy police chief, said they have not noticed any forced entry to the Mr. DIY store.

Police investigations further showed that the cash sales for July 14 were not deposited in the bank, nor placed in the safety vault.

The P27,470 in cash placed in three safety vaults, that had not been forcibly opened, remained intact, the Bago City police said.

Jaro said all employees of the store are now being investigated, and their fingerprints taken to match those evidences gathered by the PNP Scene of the Crime operatives.

Recovered at the crime scene were two flat screw drivers, a chisel, a plastic clamp, a plastering trowel, and cloth gloves.

Investigations showed that the perpetrators gained entry through the window at the fire exit at the second floor of the store.

The suspects also cut the CCTV wirings, removed the hard drive from its mother board, and placed it in a pail filled with water.*
