The hospitalization rate of Covid-19 patients at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital has not reached the critical level yet, Dr. Julius Drilon said.

Drilon, who is the CLMMRH medical Center chief, said that, as of yesterday, only 11 Covid positive patients have been admitted in their hospital.

Of the 11, five are members of CLMMRH staff, who were earlier inoculated with the China-made Sinovac vaccines, he said.

The staff who tested positive for Covid include three nurses, a radiology technician, and an administrative staff member, Drilon added.

CLMMRH has allocated a total of 124 beds for Covid patients although only 100 are currently usable.

Drilon said the sixth floor where the other 24 beds intended for Covid patients are located is under renovation and will be operational within a month.

He reiterated that CLMMRH can still accommodate Covid patients.

Drilon also said that most of the hospital beds are now occupied by the non-Covid patients.

Meanwhile, he explained that getting vaccinated against Covid 19 does not mean you are no longer going to contract  the disease. It will only lessen symptoms, or will make you asymptomatic and it will also reduce tendency of hospitalisation, Drilon said.

This means basic health protocols should still be practised despite inoculation, he added.

Almost 90 percent of the hospital staff of CLMMRH have already been inoculated.*
