Three more personnel of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday bringing the total number to 33 health care workers, Dr. Julius Drilon, CLMMRH chief, said.

There were 49 CLMMRH health care workers who were tested for COVID-19 yesterday with a nurse and two support staff testing positive, and the rest negative, Drilon said.

In a public advisory yesterday, Drilon said that because of recent events that necessitate hospital areas to be thoroughly disinfected, as well as to conduct intensive contract tracing among their personnel, the CLMMRH management deemed it necessary to stop admissions at the Department of Pediatrics.

However, consultation at the emergency department for moderate and severe COVID -19 cases and extreme pediatric surgery cases will still continue, he said.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will remain closed, he said.

There will still be no out-patient consultation except for patients undergoing chemotherapy, and admission at the Department of Surgery will be limited to extreme emergency cases, he reiterated.

“We assure the public that the hospital is implementing strict infection control measures to halt the spread of COVID-19 within the premises,” he added.

Drilon urged the public to stay calm and observe the minimum health standards required at this time as the cooperation of everyone is extremely needed.*
