Slight increase were noted in the prices of pork and carabao beef in various markets of Negros Occidental this week.

Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said  the price of carabao beef is now at P268.90 per kilo from P268.07 last week or a difference or 83 centavos.

Decena said the costs of the  pork also spiked as it is now sold for P229.05 per kilo from P228.33 last week, or increase of 72 centavos.

The increase was attributed to the hike in demand, while supply last week became limited.

After an increase in prices for the last two weeks, broiler chicken is now sold at P182.79 from P182.93 or a decrease of 14 centavos, Decena said.

Beef and chevron or goat meat, remained at P280 and 338.22 per kilo, respectively, he also said.

Meanwhile, small eggs now costs P6.69 per piece, medium-P7.30, large- P7.98 and extra large-P8.66 while salted eggs are at P13.06.*
