Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he will report back to work today after he tested negative for Covid-19 yesterday.

Lacson went on self-isolation Tuesday after he was informed that an official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government from Iloilo, who attended the Provincial Anti-Drug Summit at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City on Friday, tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.

He also said that Donelyn Hemedez, assistant regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6, DILG-Negros Occidental provincial director Roselyn Quintana, and Board Member Juvy Pepello, who chairs the Association of Barangay Captains in Negros Occidental, tested negative.

Lacson and the three officials were swabbed yesterday morning at the Teresa Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City. However, the results of the swab tests on 18 other DILG employees assigned in Negros Occidental, have yet to be released.*
