Assorted guns and ammunition were seized by the police in simultaneous raids on Jan. 30 in Purok Bino, Brgy. Oringao in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, that also led to the arrest of three suspects.
Armed with search warrants issued by Judge Rodney Magbanua, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Provincial Field Unit, assisted by the PNP Special Action Force, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, intelligence personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, and the Kabankalan City police, swooped down on three different targets in the place.
Nabbed were Shem Alfonso, Randy Arpal, and Ronald Moreño.
The apprehension of Alfonso yielded a .357 Smith and Wesson magnum caliber revolver with 14 live ammunition while a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing six live ammunition was recovered during the arrest of Arpal, the police said.
Two more guns, including a .357 magnum and .22 caliber revolvers, both with no serial numbers, and seven live ammunition were also recovered during the apprehension of Moreño. The three arrested suspects are now in the custody of the Kabankalan City Police Station.*
