Gov’t employee, 3 others nabbed in drug buy-busts

A local government employee and three other drug suspects were apprehended Tuesday and Wednesday by the police in a series of buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental, that yielded more than P32,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Policemen arrested Dheejay Franco, 37, an employee of the Cadiz City government, during a buy-bust operation Dec. 9 at Rizal Street in Brgy. Zone 5, Cadiz City.

Cadiz police chief, Lt. Col. Robert Mansueto, said the operation yielded 0.3 gram of suspected shabu, worth P2,040, drug paraphernalia, and P500 in marked money.

Another drug suspect, identified as Dwight Haresco, 40, was arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 2, Victorias City, on the same day.

The apprehension of Haresco yielded 0.5 gram of suspected shabu, worth P3,400, P1,000 in marked money, two cellular phones, and P195 in cash.

Harold Mariveles was nabbed by the police in Purok 9, Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, and seized from him a sachet of suspected shabu, worth P612, and P500 in marked money.

Two days earlier, policemen also apprehended Edgar Bryan San Joaquin in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Zone 10, Talisay City. The arrest of San Joaquin yielded nine sachets of suspected shabu, with a market value of P27,200, assorted paraphernalia, and marked money.*
