Five LGUs register zero Covid case

There are now five municipalities in Negros Occidental with zero active case of Covid-19, as of Jan. 2, the Provincial Incident Management Team said.

The municipalities of EB Magalona and Ilog joined Don Salvador Benedicto, Pulupandan, and Candoni with no active case of coronavirus disease 2019, the PIMT also said.

But cases in San Carlos City rose from 18 on Dec. 28, to 26, as of Saturday, registering the highest number of active cases among 31 LGUs in Negros Occidental, excluding Bacolod City.

Isabela had 15 cases, Cauayan and Silay City – 13 each, Victorias City and Cauayan – 12 each, and 10 each in Escalante City and Valladolid.

The towns and cities with low numbers of active cases are Sipalay City, Bago City and Binalbagan one each, Moises Padilla – 3, Manapla – 4, La Carlota City, La Castellana, Murcia, and Pontevedra – 5 each;

Cadiz City, Himamaylan City, Sagay City, and San Enrique – 6 each, Toboso and Calatrava – 8 each, and Talisay and Kabankalan – 9 each, the PIMT report also said.

The number of active cases in Negros Occidental dropped from 225 on Dec. 28, to 203, as of Jan. 2, the report added. Bacolod City had 76 active cases in the same period.*
