This pandemic has made a lot of people think of ways to occupy their time. I’ve always dreamed to have a trained dog, like Lassie in the movies. As I got a new litter of puppies, the blackest of them all which I named Noir (French for black) was sent at three months old to the K9 school of Abraham “Abes” Zayco for some social tricks to amuse me. Well, this weekend, after a good couple of months training, I got a call saying that Noir was ready to go home.

The Field of Dreams K9 school of Abes had to adjust to my needs because dogs over there are trained for police and military. I just wanted my dog to learn how to fetch and sit. Well, I really got a treat because, not only was my puppy now a grown doggie but he was able to perform more tricks than I expected. Noir knows how to sit and beg for his treat, stand up and twirl, like a ballroom dancer, and even makes an obstacle course with your legs, going between them as you walk slowly. He also quickly fetches a ball, learned how to heel when out for a walk, and came out of school with a healthy mane of fur after he lost most of his baby hair.

Abes learned how to train dogs when he got his first German Shepherd from doting parents Bomber Zayco and Miren Lopez for his 7th birthday. Ever since then, training dogs has been his passion. In 2014, he resigned from a well paying job in a stock brokerage firm in Makati and went home to Bacolod. The family agreed to allow him to use the space they just acquired in Talisay for his dogs and, from there on, he started building his kennel and trained dogs primarily for the military and police forces. It has always been his dream to have a huge space for his dogs to play and learn. That is why Abes called his K9 school Field of Dreams.

Make your dreams come true also by entrusting your paw-paw’s education to this exclusive place. You’ll have a new life after, that’s for sure!
