The bags of dry and clean palay sold at the Gequillana warehouse Thursday*

Two farmers from Ilog sold 215 bags of palay to the National Food Authority warehouse in Brgy. Dancalan in the town, and warehouse supervisor Maverick Misajon said more farmers have signified their intention to also sell their produce to the NFA.

But Misajon said that not all palays are being purchased by the agency, adding that only clean and dry ones will be procured.

He said classifier John Martin Jaropillo ensured that the palay sold are qualified, and in good state.

Misajon added that farmers interested in selling their palay may contact him through 09156706090.

This is already the second palay acquisition within the week after farmers of the San Enrique Multi-Purpose Cooperative sold 7,790 kilos of clean and dry palay to the NFA in Bacolod City Tuesday.

Farmers from central Negros may contact Ronald Aluyen at 0939-6984160, supervisor of both JJ warehouse at the Bredco port in Bacolod and the GID warehouse beside the NFA compound.

Farmers from northern Negros Occidental may contact Jose Porferio Lesidan II at 0917-3018452 of the DTY warehouse at Endrin Street in San Carlos City. Interested farmers may also inquire at the NFA office in Bacolod City, or call 434-4954.*
