Farmer hacked dead in duel

BY ADRIAN P. NEMES III

A farmer died after his neighbor hacked him several times, following a heated argument, at about 8 p.m. Wednesday in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

The police identified the victim as Albert Lacsinto, 43, of Purok Lampunaya in Brgy. San Miguel, La Carlota.

Investigation showed that Lacsinto and the suspect, Arnel Tacuyo, 42, were having a drinking spree in the house of the victim when an argument ensued between them. The latter left and returned minutes later with a bolo, and challenged him to a fight.

Lacsinto came out with a cane cutter but Tacuyo repeatedly hacked him then fled, leaving his bolo, the police said.
