Unidentified gunmen separately shot and killed a former member of the Civilian Armed Force Geographical Unit and a probationer on March 26 and 27 in Negros Occidental, police said.

Ex-CAFGU member Gerallie Porre, 57, was on his way home on March 26, when he was waylaid and shot without any provocation by four unidentified armed men at Hacienda Roma, Sitio Aluyan, Brgy. Caduha-an, Cadiz City.

The victim, according to initial investigations of the Cadiz City police, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds,  including an injury in his head.

Porre was declared dead on arrival at the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic, while the suspects fled to an unknown direction, after the shooting incident, a report of the Cadiz City police said.

Two empty shells and a slug of still undetermined caliber of firearm were recovered at the scene of incident.

Two unidentified armed men also shot and killed Allen Epogon Rivera, who was recently released from jail for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, on March 27 at San Isidro Street in Brgy. San Pedro, Binalbagan.

Initial police investigations disclosed that the victim, his brother, Arman, and their mother, Marlin, were walking along the street, when the gunman and his companion disembarked from gray vehicle from behind them, and shot him.

The brother and mother of the victim, however, managed to escape from the two suspects, who were wearing bonnets.

The Rivera siblings had availed of a plea bargaining agreement for violation of RA 9165, that led to their release from jail, according to the police.

Allen was declared dead on arrival at the Binalbagan Infirmary Clinic, while five empty cartridges and a slug of 45 caliber pistol were recovered by the police at the scene of incident.

Meanwhile, a certain Honesto Escobar, alias Along, was found dead on March 26 at Yolanda Homes in Brgy. Old Poblacion, Escalante City, Negros Occidental.

Escobar, caretaker of a property owned by Eva Fuentebella, a native of Bulacan, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the  left and right sides of his face, according to initial investigations of the police.

Prior to the discovery of Escobar’s  lifeless body, two gunshots were heard by a certain James Pilar in the evening of March 25, which he ignored.

A bolo owned by the victim was recovered by the Escalante police at the scene of incident.*
