“Bacolod’s Covid-19 vaccines are for free,” executive director Em Ang of the Emergency Operations Center said to debunk reports that the city government is charging for the inoculation.
Ang said if there are any social media posts of people allegedly being charged for their vaccine, EOC has nothing to do with it.
She said EOC has not authorized any persons to collect fees for the vaccine, and she urged the public to be wary of these unscrupulous people who are trying to take advantage of the situation.
Ang reiterated that those who haven’t done so yet may now register at tinyurl.com/bcdceironline and wait to be notified of their scheduled vaccination.
The EOC reminded the public that they do not encourage walk-ins at this time in order to effectively control the crowds and maintain proper distancing at vaccination sites.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod City government announced that it had inoculated 59,945 Bacolod residents, as of July 6.
Of that number, 12,027 have received their second doses, a press release from the city said.
The City had administered a total of 71,972 vaccine doses, 59,945 for the first dose, and 12,027 as second shots.
The figure represents 21,328 doses of AstraZeneca, and 50,644 doses of Sinovac vaccines, it added.*
