Dumaguete subport passes ISO 9001:2015 audit

The Bureau of Customs Subport of Dumaguete has successfully passed the final external audit, the last stage needed to be granted the ISO 9001:2015 Certification, a press release from the BOC said.

It will be the first subport of the BOC and third Customs office soon to be granted the ISO certification.

TüvSüd Management Service, a German auditing and certification service provider conducted the audit to determine Dumaguete’s conformity to the ISO standards to consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The certifying body found the requirements for ISO standards to have been satisfied and recommended the Subport for issuance of ISO 9001:2015 Certification, the press release said.

“This milestone was made possible through the dedication of everyone in the Subport with the assistance of the District Port and the members of BOC Interim Internal Quality Management System Office. We will not be resting on our laurels and will continue to undertake more initiatives to consistently improve the way we deliver our services to our stakeholders,” port collector Fe Lluelyn Toring, who led the Subport’s application for ISO 9001:2015 Certification, said.

A part of the Bureau’s top priority programs, the ISO 9001:2015 Certification is an international standard that specifies requirements and provides a process-oriented approach to documenting and reviewing the structure, responsibilities, and procedures for quality management system for organizations and government agencies, the press release said. “It is an internationally recognized badge of quality customs service you now carry, that I know is well-deserved. Your achievement inspires and motivates us to carry on the work towards certification,” Port of Cebu acting collector Charlito Martin Mendoza said and also encouraged the other units under the District Port of Cebu to continue the work of streamlining services and improving processes.*
