The Department of Health reported yesterday that 47 Covid-19 positive Negrenses have recovered.

However, Negros Occidental had an additional 13 new Covid-19 cases, while Bacolod City had 33, and one death, identified as a 43-year-old woman, the DOH report added.

This brought to 863 the active cases in Region 6 out of the 1,703 cases recorded by DOH-Western Visayas since March this year, with total reported deaths at 22.

Of the 33 new cases in Bacolod City, 29 of them are local cases, DOH report also said.

The 47 Negrenses who recovered from the virus are also part of the 60 new recoveries in Western Visayas.

Meanwhile, Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares announced yesterday that the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) at the New Talisay City Hall will be closed starting today, to pave the way for disinfection.

This was after a Covid-19 patient from Bacolod City processed a business permit at the BLPO, Lizares said.

He added that all BLPO employees have already been subjected to swab testing.

Transactions at the BLPO will resume on Aug. 10, he added.*
